Huiles sur toiles - André Leocat
on 5th october to 17 november 2012
Opening on thursday 5 october at 7 PM.
Oils on canvas
Since the end of the 1970s, André Leocat has been experimenting with the questions of the pictorial field defined by a certain abstract tradition: the construction of the canvas by planes of color and strict flatness, inherited from the American abstract painters of the 1950s; declination of the motives of the square and the cross, witnesses of an ever renewed interest for Malevitch and Suprematism.
André Leocat is a painter and his questioning is that of the place of painting. He pushes his experiments to their limits and the "last painting" is never far away.
